GESS International has attracted top tier executives to handle your executive and human resource search. We are proud to introduce our team.
As a recruiter and business consultant, Rod assists market entry for knowledge-based products in the Japanese and Asian markets. In 1999 he joined the San Jose Office of a publicly traded NASDAQ company in order to establish the company's first Asian office. That company was voted one of the "20 Best Fastest Growing Firms", by Fortune Magazine in 1999.
Rod has placed over 80 Country General Managers and over 200 Senior-level managers and numerous Engineering and Operations Director candidates for foreign companies operating in the Japanese and Greater China operations. Operating with his Japanese colleagues, Rod has introduced new products into the Japanese market and place senior and technical management to run these companies -- thus increasing market share and profitability.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Rod also holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics. He is a former member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies (London) and former President of the International Adventure Club in Tokyo. He is also an active contributor to human rights, environmental and child health organisations. Rod is an avid adventurer, winter alpinist, and hiker. When not engaged with family activities, Rod can be found on the weekends somewhere in the mountains of Asia. Rod's areas of specialization are networking and semi-conductor development.
